A stall full with locally handcrafted Taylor Swift friendship bracelets has popped up at the Salamanca Market ahead of the singer’s concerts in Melbourne this weekend.
Swift touched down in Australia from the USA in the early hours of this morning after making a brief appearance in the crowd at the Super Bowl following the Japan leg of her Era’s Tour.
President of the Salamanca Market Stallholder Association Emma Hope, who runs a retro and vintage stall at the market, said dozens of people stopped by the market last weekend specifically for her Taylor bracelets, sunglasses and stickers.
“I sold a lot of Swiftie starter packs so I’m spending the week making friendship bracelets,” Emma said.
“I started off making them for all my friends who were lucky enough to get Eras tix and to console myself as I was devastated to miss out.”
Many of the bracelets will now find their way into the hands of Swifties from across the country and around the globe as they are traded at the concerts.
Around 86,000 fans are anticipated to fill the MCG for each show, with nearly 260,000 Swifties converging on Melbourne over the three dates alone.
Each performance is scheduled to last around 3.5 hours, during which Swift will sing 44 songs spanning her musical career.
Following her Melbourne shows, Swift will play four shows in Sydney next weekend.
