A 15-year-old has been charged over a string of burglaries and car thefts across northern Tasmania.
Police allege the Invermay teenager was involved in a crime spree that included break-ins, thefts and stolen cars around Invermay, as well as a series of burglaries from vehicles in Perth.
Taskforce Raven arrested the teenager on September 1 following what police described as an extensive investigation.
He was charged with 41 offences, including one count of aggravated burglary of a dwelling, nine counts of burglary and two counts of attempted burglary.
The charges also include 13 counts of stealing, three counts of motor vehicle stealing and three counts of attempted motor vehicle stealing.
He was further charged with driving without a licence, being involved in a crash and failing to stop and eight counts of relevant contravention.
The teenager appeared before an after-hours court and was remanded in custody.
“Police know offences such as burglary and motor vehicle theft have a significant impact on victims and the broader community,” a spokesperson said.
“… [Officers] will continue to target those responsible and bring them before the courts.”
