A teenage boy has died in hospital after a head-on crash between an off-road motorbike and a motorised push bike in Bridgewater last week.

The 19-year-old was riding along Killarney Road around 7:25pm on Friday when the collision between the two bikes occurred.

Acting Inspector Renee Oates said on Saturday that the young man was believed to have been wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

She added that the manner in which the bikes were being ridden would form a key part of the investigation.
