Teenager released on bail following alleged $2,100 theft spree

A 14-year-old boy accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of goods has been released on bail after being arrested in Hobart’s CBD.

He is facing two counts of stealing, along with drug possession and bail offences, after police allegedly caught him in the act on Friday afternoon.

Officers say he targeted businesses across Hobart and North Hobart, getting away with around $2,100 worth of stolen items.

The teen is due to face the Youth Justice Court at a later date.

Police did not specify which businesses were involved, what was taken or which substances were allegedly found.
