Thick smoke visible across New Norfolk as firefighters battle structure fire

Updated, 6pm Friday November 1: A New Norfolk automotive business has been extensively damaged by a fire that broke out this afternoon.

Firefighters from New Norfolk, Lachlan, Magra and Bridgewater responded to the blaze at Go Again Auto Repairs on the Avenue just before 4pm on Friday.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and an investigation is underway.

Earlier: Firefighters are battling a large blaze at a business in New Norfolk this afternoon.

The Tasmania Fire Service say crews are responding to a structure fire on The Avenue.

Police have closed the road between Leila Street and Poulters Road.

It is understood the business is an automotive workshop.
