The owner of a Launceston house that was left uninhabitable after a truck crash last month has issued a plea for the return of stolen items after the property was burgled.

Anna Nati says treasured, sentimental items belonging to her daughter Amy, who is battling cancer, were stolen from the house sometime between Saturday and Tuesday.

“I mean, who does that?”, Anna told 7 Tasmania News.

“You know, you often hear about when, you know, when there’s the floods and people going through homes and stuff and you just think low lives.”

“Amy has cancer and she hasn’t got a great deal of time left and to be surrounded by her things is important to her.”

Thousands of dollars worth of Disney collectibles, DVDs, letters and cards were taken from the house, which has been boarded up since the accident, with Police asking anyone with information on the thieves to contact them.

“It would just mean the world to us to have those things back,” Anna said.

“Just have a heart, you know, just have a heart and think about our situation.”
