Three young girls have been accused of stealing around $2,000 worth of items from businesses in Hobart in just one day.
The 12-year-old, 15-year-old and 16-year-old are alleged to have targeted two businesses in North Hobart and New Town on Sunday.
Police say a variety of cosmetics, perfume and clothing, believed to have been stolen, were recovered from a property in Claremont during a search earlier this week.
The girls will now be summoned to appear in a youth court at the Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date.
The incident comes after Tasmania Police Commissioner Donna Adams revealed youth crime was found to be the top concern for people across the state in a recent survey.
Police are reminding anyone who may witness antisocial or illegal behaviour in the community to report it by calling 131 444 or Triple Zero (000) in an emergency.
