During the operation, the Southern Drugs and Firearms Squad intercepted a vehicle of interest and conducted multiple residential searches, leading to the seizure of around 110 grams of cocaine and a small quantity of steroids.

Detective Acting Sergeant Sam Storer said the quantity of illicit drugs “could have resulted in 1,100 street deals”.

“[This] has a significant negative impact on our community,” Storer said.

“Tasmania Police, with the support of the community, will continue to proactively target and prosecute those involved in the illicit drug trade.”

The accused man is scheduled to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on 25th September 2023.
