A Hobart man who allegedly attempted to make off with free products during Black Friday sales at a Hobart shopping centre has been charged.
The 28-year-old man from the Rosny area will face court in the coming weeks after he allegedly entered the loading bay of a business at Eastlands around 11:40am on Friday and attempted to steal items.
After getting into a physical confrontation with staff, which did not leave them physically injured, police say he ran off from the area.
They say the man was identified thanks to information from the public and arrested on Tuesday.
He has been charged with one count of ‘stealing with force’, another unrelated stealing matter and bailed to appear in court at a later date.

A man is on the run after an alleged Black Friday robbery at a shopping centre on Hobart’s Eastern Shore.
The offender, described as being in his late 20’s, allegedly threatened staff at an Eastlands store around 11:40am on Friday before stealing several items and fleeing on foot.
Police say the man is believed to be of medium build with brown hair and was wearing blue jeans, a black top with a red hood while carrying a black and blue backpack.
No one was injured in the incident and Police are now calling for anyone with information to come forward.
