A motorcycle crash on Hobart’s Tasman Bridge has brought traffic to a standstill across much of the city’s road network.
Police and ambulance crews are at the scene of the single-vehicle crash.
The extent of the rider’s injuries isn’t yet known.
The crash has triggered widespread traffic chaos on both sides of the Derwent River.

The middle lane of the Tasman Bridge, which usually flows toward the city during peak-hour morning traffic, has been closed to all cars – leaving only two city-bound lanes open.
On the eastern shore, traffic is banked up past Mt Rumney on the Tasman Highway.

Delays also stretch back near Bellerive, with the East Derwent Highway backed up all the way to Lindisfarne.
In the city, Macquarie Street is blocked up and traffic has banked back onto the Southern Outlet.
Motorists are being advised to expect significant delays.
