Controversial plans to build 24 units in Battery Point have been given the green light after multiple rejections from the Hobart City Council.
The controversial development includes two buildings, one five-storey and one four-storey, with an arched pedestrian entrance-way, a curved masonry corner and a fenced garden.
The 1 Knopwood Street site is currently home to a commercial building and warehouse from the 1970s, which will both be demolished.
The initial designs were rejected in 2016 and two more designs were rejected in 2022 due to concerns about overshadowing and conflicts with the heritage values of the area.

However, after a successful appeal by developer Bensons Property Group, the development will now be issued a planning permit.
The Tasmanian Civil and Administrative Tribunal considered evidence from heritage experts, with differing opinions on the impact of the apartments on the historic Battery Point precinct.
The tribunal ultimately ruled that the development would be sympathetic to the precinct and would not overshadow or diminish the visibility of nearby heritage properties.
Bensons Property Group also argued that the development met density, building height and design requirements for the area.
The tribunal has ordered the parties to file agreed conditions for the permit within two weeks or submit draft conditions if an agreement is not reached.
