Hobart dad and local footy legend Dion Mead is being remembered after passing away recently.
A life member of the Lauderdale Football Club and friend to all, Club president Andrew Lyden said Dion’s impact both on and off the field was immeasurable and his passing has left a ‘tremendous hole that will be impossible to fill’.
“On behalf of the Lauderdale Football Club, I offer our deepest condolences to Kristi, Noah, Sophie and the extended family regarding the devastating loss of our esteemed Life Member Dion Mead,” he said.
“Dion was an icon in our Club and a dear friend to everybody who knew him. His tireless work for the Club and the support and help he willingly gave to all those he met will never be forgotten.”

Lyden said every member of the club’s playing group, volunteers and members had benefited by knowing Dion.
Clarence Mayor Brendan Blomeley also paid tribute to Mead and offered his condolences to the club in what is a ‘very sad time’.
In honour of his memory, players and referees will wear black armbands and hold a minute of silence before each game this week.
