A truck crash on Lachlan Road in Southern Tasmania’s Derwent Valley has caused significant power disruptions.
Police responded to the crash near 190 Lachlan Road around 9:30am, where a truck is understood to have struck nearby powerlines.

The incident has blocked the road and authorities are asking people to avoid the area until the scene is cleared.
TasNetworks say approximately 408 properties in the Lachlan area are without power as a result of the incident.
Power is not expected to be restored to the area until Wednesday evening.
Fortunately nobody was injured in the incident.
