Two Southern Tasmanian men have been stripped of their vehicles after they were caught doing more than double the speed limit.
Police caught the men speeding down Fulham Road near Connelly’s Marsh at 166km/h, 86km/h over the 80km/h limit, around 4:00pm on Sunday.
Dunalley Constable Etherington said a car and motorbike were involved in the “disappointing” incident.
“This is another example of poor driver behaviour and could have easily resulted in serious injury or tragedy,” Etherington said.
Both drivers have been fined $1040.00 and disqualified for up to 4 months.
The car involved has been clamped, while the motorbike will be seized for 28 days.
