Police are investigating two suspicious fires in Launceston’s northern suburbs that broke out within minutes of each other this morning.
A house fire at Burrawang Court in Rocherlea caused an estimated $200,000 in damage after emergency services were called shortly before 6am.
Tasmania Fire Service crews from Launceston and Rocherlea arrived to find the structure well alight and worked quickly to contain and control the blaze.
No one was home at the time and there were no injuries.

Investigations at the scene indicate the fire was deliberately lit, police said.
Anyone with information, who witnessed suspicious behaviour in the Burrawang Court area on Sunday morning,or who has relevant CCTV or dashcam footage is asked to contact police on 131 444.

A separate fire at an abandoned property on Gleadow Street in Invermay was reported to emergency services shortly before 5:45am.
Police said that blaze is also being treated as suspicious and a separate investigation is under way.
