The charges stem from an incident on November 8 2022, when the activists allegedly trespassed while participating in a protest aimed at safeguarding the habitat of the critically endangered Swift Parrot from logging activities in an Eastern Tiers coupe.

Their argument centered around the claim that the logging activity in the area was illegal and posed a threat to the critically endangered Swift Parrot, whose habitat was at stake.

During the court proceedings, the defence lawyer representing the three defendants requested a joint hearing.

It was decided that the hearing would take place over two days, scheduled for December.

The trio were granted bail, with a court date set for September 7.
