More than two years after a council worker died beneath a ride-on mower, a Tasmanian council is facing court over how it managed workplace safety.
WorkSafe Tasmania has laid two charges against the West Coast Council, each alleging it failed to comply with its work health and safety obligations.

The regulator says the charges stem from the death of a man in his 30s at Zeehan on November 20, 2023.
The worker was found under a mower at Frank Long Memorial Park. Emergency services were unable to save him.
The council fronted the Burnie Magistrates Court this week, where its lawyer raised the possibility of resolving the matter without a hearing.
Prosecutors are still gathering documents and the case has been adjourned to September for pleas.
