Hobart Lord Mayor Anna Reynolds congratulated Coats on his return to council and said she was looking forward to working with him “for the betterment of the residents of Hobart”.

“Having worked with Mr Coats previously, it should ensure a smooth addition to the Hobart City Council,” Reynolds said.

Coats is expected to be sworn in at the next Hobart City Council meeting on November 27 and will sit on the council until the 2026 elections.
