Two mischievous little Tasmanian devils are on the hunt for their official names after they were unexpectedly born in the state’s north-west.
Wings Wildlife Park recently welcomed the two male devils into their family and has now turned to the public for their name suggestions.
Ian Waller from the park said naming new arrivals is typically an easy task when there’s only one to name.
“But this time we’ve got the two, so [the public have] got to make a choice, they’re going to make a determination for two of them,” he told WIN.
“We’ve had ‘Tas and Mazia’, ‘Tas and Mania’. We’ve had names that have been attached to Guns Plains.”
Other suggestions include ‘Frederick and Ronaldo’, ‘Bert and Ernie’ and ‘Den and Mark’ – in honour of Queen Mary.
The devils are around five months old and have already become a popular attraction at the park.
“We’re just lucky to have some fertile devils … Hopefully next year we will have two young female devils who could then support the Tassie female AFL team,” Waller said.

The official names are set to be revealed on January 26th, with the winning submitter to receive a family pass for a park visit, as well as an opportunity for a close encounter with the devils.
