Tasmania’s political landscape remains largely unchanged, according to the latest EMRS poll, with both major parties experiencing minimal shifts in voter support.
The Liberals and Labor both slipped a point, now sitting at 34% and 30% respectively, while the Greens also dropped a point to 13%.
Only independents and the Jacqui Lambie Network made small gains.
Premier Jeremy Rockliff’s approval rating increased slightly from 43% to 44%, while Labor leader Dean Winter’s dropped to 34% from 37%.
Leader favourability showed Rockliff’s net favourability is down from 15% to 10% since November and Winter’s has fallen from 14% to 6%.
27% of respondents said they were unfamiliar with Winter, while only 6% of voters said they had never heard of Rockliff.
“Respondents in the south (23%) gave Dean Winter a favourable rating compared to those in the combined north and north-west (12%),” EMRS said.
“Those in the combined north and north-west (38%) were more likely to say they had never heard of Dean Winter.”
The poll, conducted between February 11 and 18, surveyed 1,000 voters by phone.
