A young man has been left with what Police are describing as serious but non-life threatening head injuries after an alleged Salamanca attack in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police say the victim in his 20s was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital following the “serious assault” at around 4:20am, while a 24-year-old Lenah Valley man was taken into custody.
Police are currently investigating and are calling for any witnesses to contact them on 131444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
8pm, Sunday, 5 November: Police have charged a 24-year-old Lenah Valley man with criminal code assault over the alleged serious Salamanca attack overnight.
He has been detained to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on Monday.
