A young Tasmanian man who allegedly shot and killed a protected Australian fur seal is facing multiple charges.
Police initiated a “targeted investigation” last month following the recent incident near Richmond.

The 23-year-old from Campania was taken into custody last week after a search of a private residence in the area in early June.
During the search, officers reportedly found various illegal firearms and stolen property.
The man is now facing several charges related to burglary and firearms offences.
He appeared in Hobart Magistrates Court on Friday and is scheduled to reappear on Monday afternoon.
