Police are trying to combat the rise of young criminals in the Kingborough area, who have been terrorizing residents of Kingston and Blackmans Bay recently.
New data shows an increase in property crime in private dwellings and retail outlets throughout Kingborough.
Tasmania Police Inspector Colin Riley says there is a “very small number” of repeat offenders, including youths and young adults, committing these crimes.
The current hotspot for crime is the Kingston shopping precinct, with anti-social behavior and shoplifting being the main issues.
Kingborough Mayor Paula Wriedt has urged residents to report incidents and provide information about potential crimes to assist police.
