A 14-year-old’s motorcycle has been seized in Wynyard after police caught the teenager allegedly riding recklessly and without a licence.

The youth was charged with five offences including driving with unnecessary speed, acceleration or loss of traction, riding without a licence, using an unregistered vehicle, riding without insurance and riding without a helmet.

Police seized the motorcycle for three months because it was the teenager’s second prescribed offence.

The youth had already been charged with evading police in a separate incident last month.

Police said they continue to target dangerous driving behaviours, particularly those linked to the Fatal Five.

They reminded the community that reckless use of vehicles puts not only the driver at risk but also other road users and pedestrians.

Anyone with information about dangerous driving is encouraged to contact police or report anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or crimestopperstas.com.au.
