Four other photographers received highly commended honours: Gary Sowter, Katy Morgan, Putu Ariawan and Chelsea Bell.

Heroys said entries came from right across the region, covering the Huon Valley, Derwent Valley, Central Highlands and Tasman Peninsula.

“We know that photographers have been traveling all around the region, taking photos and staying in regional areas,” he said.

“The turning of the fagus this year particularly has attracted thousands into Mount Field National Park.”
