Visitors to Tasmania’s Mount Dial Nature Recreation Area near Penguin are being warned of potential delays due to roadworks.
Upgrades have begun on Ironcliffe Road and the Mount Gnomon carpark within the recreation area, the Parks and Wildlife Service said.
“The road will remain open but delays of up to 15 minutes should be expected,” a spokesperson said.
“This will impact visitors wanting to access Mount Gnomon and Mount Duncan (Southern Dial Range).”
“Works are expected to take six weeks to complete.”
The Central Coast Council is undertaking an upgrade of the road as part of the Australian Government’s Remote Roads Upgrade Pilot program.
In July, the construction contract was awarded to Hardings Group.
Works will start from the south at Mount Gnomon.
