A unit fire in Lenah Valley caused an estimated $20,000 in damage after flames broke out on the deck this morning.
Tasmania Fire Service crews were called to Wallace Avenue around 7am on Saturday after reports of smoke coming from the roof.

By the time firefighters arrived, the owner had already put the fire out.
The Tasmania Fire Service said crews “located a fire that had started on the decking of the unit”.
“[The fire] had been extinguished by the owner prior to the brigade’s arrival,” a spokesperson said.
“Crews checked other areas that may have been impacted by the fire.”
No injuries were reported. The fire has been deemed accidental.
