A man who crashed his car into a power pole in Hobart’s north overnight has been arrested after allegedly assaulting an eyewitness.
Police say the assault happened after the driver crashed on Boyer Road shortly after 9:30pm on Tuesday night.

After stopping at the scene to help, the man allegedly assaulted the witness, who managed to escape ‘without physical injuries’.
The circumstances surrounding the crash, including if the man was under the influence or speeding, have not been released.
The driver was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police crash investigators will close the road from 12pm on Wednesday afternoon for around 1 hour as they continue to investigate the incident.
