Vati, one of the beloved Lions at Tasmania Zoo, has died aged 16.
Vati was born at Mogo Zoo in New South Wales in 2007 before moving to Tasmania in 2016 and had been a favourite for visitors and staff over the last 7 years.

The Zoo said Vati had been experiencing age related health issues in recent years.
“With his condition deteriorating, it was decided it was the kindest for him to be put to sleep,” the Zoo wrote.
“He will be dearly missed.”
Vati is survived by his three brothers Megalou, Timba and Narky.
