A partly-blind Tasmanian farm dog from Fingal is up for the title of Australasia’s hardest working dog.
Earl, a 3-year-old Keplie, has ‘finely tuned herding instincts’ and runs for ‘miles and miles’ everyday.

Owner and farmer Alex Johns says Earl is one-of-a-kind.
“He’s mentally strong and works with intensity and agility,” Johns said.
“I can’t wait to see how many kilometers he runs in the yard compared with out in the field.”
“He’s non-stop and loves every minute, so I think we are in for a chance to take home the win.”
Together with his owner, Earl will represent Tasmania in the 2023 Cobber Challenge – competing against 12 other working dogs from Australia and New Zealand.
