A bushfire that broke out at Launceston’s Cataract Gorge overnight is yet to be brought under control, according to TasALERT.

Firefighters responded to the fire around midnight on Friday, with the blaze reportedly starting on the Zig-Zag track.

A witness on the scene told Pulse it looked like there were 4 seperate fires burning at various points along the track.

UPDATE 9AM: The Tasmania Fire Service says the fire is now under control, and efforts will now shift to determine how the blaze was started.
