Police are investigating after a group of people allegedly broke into a Claremont home and assaulted a man early this morning.
Emergency services were called to the address around 5am following reports several people had entered the residence and attacked the occupant.

The man was found with injuries that are not life-threatening and was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital for treatment.
Police said initial investigations suggest the incident was targeted.
Officers remain on the scene conducting inquiries.
