A crime scene has been declared at a home in Railton, in north-west Tasmania, after a man was allegedly seriously assaulted this morning.
Tasmania Police said emergency services were called to the address shortly after 8:30am on Wednesday following reports a man had been attacked.

The victim was taken to the Mersey Community Hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.
A man was arrested nearby a short time later, police said. He remains in custody.
Police said the man arrested is known to the alleged victim.
“Investigations are ongoing and a crime scene has been declared at the address,” a Tasmania Police spokesperson said.
“There is no threat to the wider community.”
