Tasmania’s search for its top tourism towns has wrapped up, with three destinations across the state set to represent the island at national awards in September.
Devonport has once again taken out the top spot in the ‘Tassie Top Tourism Towns’ competition for towns with a population over 5,000.
The North-West city will now go on to compete against other state and territory finalists in the ‘Top Tourism Town’ category at the national awards ceremony in Canberra.
Richmond has also secured a spot in the national competition after being named the winner in the ‘Small Tourism Town’ category for towns with a population between 1,500 and 5,000.

Stanley has won the ‘Tiny Tourism Town’ category for the second year in a row, which is open to towns with a population under 1,500.
A Tourism Industry Council Tasmania spokesperson said the awards recognise the efforts of local businesses and communities to provide exceptional visitor experiences.

The national awards will be presented at Parliament House in Canberra on September 10.
