A young man has been charged with aggravated assault following an incident that involved several people reportedly fighting in a Devonport street last night.
Police were called to Morris Avenue around 5pm on Thursday over the disturbance, where it was alleged a person was hit by a car.

The incident closed the road for a short time while investigations were carried out.
It was later confirmed that one person had indeed been struck by a car and received minor injuries.
The 19-year-old man will appear in the Devonport Magistrates Court at a later date.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or with information to come forward.
