After being closed on Sunday due to a bushfire, Dolphin Sands Road has officially reopened after a two-day shutdown.
The Tasmania Fire Service say the threat of the blaze has “reduced” and people are allowed to return home.
“The fire is contained. Tasmania Fire Service crews are patrolling. Conditions are expected to improve,” the TFS said.
Incident Controller Stuart Males said about 12 ground crews have continued work at Dolphin Sands today, patrolling and containing hot spots.
“Thankfully the fire remains within the containment lines that were established yesterday, and things are looking favourable,” he said.
“Two helicopters are continuing to conduct waterbombing in some areas, to assist ground crews with the effort.”
“The Watch and Act warning was downgraded shortly after 2pm, as there is no immediate threat and we expect conditions to continue to improve.”
He said the investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing.
