A 50-year-old woman in Northern Tasmania has been charged with high-range drink driving after she was caught by police on Saturday evening after making an illegal U-turn in the middle of road works.
When police pulled her over, they were shocked to discover that she was already serving a period of disqualification for a prior drink driving offence.

After taking a breathalyser test, the woman was found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.234.
As a result, her period of disqualification has been extended by an additional 24 months.
The woman is due to appear in court at a later date.
