Police say the man and woman arrived in Launceston from Melbourne with ‘drugs strapped to their legs’.

Importation and trafficking of a controlled substance charges have since been laid against both the man and woman, who will appear in court at a later date.

The find is the latest in a long list of recent busts at Tasmania’s airports.

In March, a drug detector dog foiled a Claremont mans attempt to allegedly bring around $5.5 million worth of illegal drugs into Tasmania through Hobart Airport.

Weeks before, another man was found to be carrying approximately $112,000 or 112g of methamphetamine during routine security screening.
