An elderly Tassie woman has been arrested and charged by police for high range drink driving offences after a car crash in Riverside on Tuesday.
The 75-year-old Trevallyn woman was driving a blue Honda sedan that collided with a parked grey Nissan SUV, causing significant damage to both vehicles.
The driver, who was the sole individual involved in the accident, was taken into custody for mandatory testing after the crash. She was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court in February.
No one was injured in the crash.
In a statement, Sergeant Gavin Chugg reminded the public to plan ahead and avoid drink or drug driving during the festive season, with police conducting high visibility patrols and random drug and alcohol testing.
Witnesses to the crash or anyone with information about the vehicle prior to the incident are encouraged to contact police at 131 444.
