Police officers have narrowly avoided injury after a driver allegedly aimed a vehicle directly at them during an incident on Bruny Island yesterday.
The situation began around 3pm on Tuesday when authorities received reports of a black Volkswagen Tiguan being driven erratically around the island.

Police caught up with the car about an hour and a half later and instead of pulling over, the driver allegedly sped off.
Police say the driver aimed the Volkswagen at officers in an attempt to avoid arrest.
The driver was later arrested at the Dennes Point boat ramp.
Anyone who witnessed the black Volkswagen Tiguan on Bruny Island or has relevant dashcam footage is asked to contact police.
