Eskimo Joe announce Hobart show at The Odeon with Alex Lloyd

Eskimo Joe are bringing nearly three decades of Australian rock to Hobart, with Alex Lloyd lined up as support.

The Fremantle trio will play an over-18 show on Sunday September 6 at The Odeon.

Eskimo Joe have built one of the country’s most enduring careers, selling more than half a million albums and picking up eight ARIA Awards from 25 nominations.

Eleven of their songs have featured in Triple J’s Hottest 100, with From the Sea reaching number three in 2004 and Black Fingernails Red Wine peaking at number two in 2006.

Their catalogue spans six studio albums and a string of hit singles that remain fixtures on Australian radio.

Alex Lloyd will open for the band on the night, bringing his own catalogue of Australian songwriting to the stage.

The Sydney singer-songwriter rose to prominence in the early 2000s with his ARIA Award-winning album Watching Angels Mend, which produced the hit singles Amazing and Black the Sun.

He has released seven studio albums across a career spanning more than two decades.
