A family has been left devastated after a fire tore through their Glenorchy home overnight.
Crews from the Glenorchy and Hobart brigades arrived at the Tolosa Street property just before 9pm on Monday.
“Crews have arrived to find the house fully involved in fire,” the Tasmania Fire Service said.
A resident who was inside the home when the blaze broke out said the first sign of trouble was the lights cutting out.

“First the lights turned off. We didn’t smell the fire or anything,” the resident told Pulse.
Moments later, a family member raised the alarm.

“[They] called ‘Oh, there’s a fire in the house.’ I saw lights on underneath the door in one of the bedrooms,” the resident said.
“The door was closed. Once we opened [it], I saw the fires on one side of the room.”
The fire spread quickly, forcing the household to evacuate.
“Suddenly it got bigger, so we called everyone to leave the house,” the resident said.

Five to six people were living in the house at the time.
All occupants made it out safely and the occupants plan to stay with relatives for the time being.
The cause of the fire has not yet been officially determined.
