A house fire near Binalong Bay in the early hours of Thursday morning has caused an estimated $450,000 in damages.
Tasmania Fire Service crews from Binalong Bay, St Helens and Scamander responded to the blaze on Dora Point Road at around 2:30am.
Firefighters arrived to find the house engulfed in flames and extensive damage to the home, the TFS said.
Two residents who were home at the time managed to escape without injury.
A friend of the family has launched a fundraiser in the wake of the tragedy.

“Their friends and family are thankful both are safe. However, no possessions could be salvaged as everything was lost in the fire, leaving them with only the clothes they had on,” the fundraiser states.
“It is going to take time for them to rebuild their lives.”
The cause of the blaze is still undetermined and an investigation is ongoing.
