Firefighters are battling a blaze that has destroyed a building at a historic rural estate near Breadalbane, south of Launceston.
The Tasmania Fire Service says crews from Launceston and Perth are at the Old Marchington site on Hobart Road, where an outbuilding is “fully involved in fire”.

Crews have confirmed a single dwelling has been “completely destroyed” and a vehicle is still burning in a carport, the fire service says.
Images of the area show thick black smoke rising from the property.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
Old Marchington is one of the state’s best-known country estates, a five-bedroom homestead on about 5.4 hectares with a history dating back to an 1821 land grant.
