Firefighters are battling a house fire in Herdsmans Cove in Hobart’s northern suburbs, with firefighters from two stations working to bring the blaze under control.
Tasmania Fire Service crews were called to Cassinia Mews around 11:25am today.
They arrived to find a two-storey brick house with an iron roof and underneath garage well alight.
Vehicles inside the garage are also reported to be involved in the fire.
Crews from Bridgewater and Glenorchy are carrying out an external attack on the building, the fire service said.

Tasmania Police said the road is closed between East Derwent Highway and Lamprill Circle.
“Motorists are asked to avoid the area, including Whelan Drive and Barberi Drive, until the scene is cleared,” police said.
It is not yet known what caused the fire or whether anyone was inside the home at the time.
