Four people have been arrested following an aggravated robbery at a Hobart city store early this morning.
Two men and two younger boys allegedly stormed American Convenience on Liverpool Street around 5am on Thursday.
Police said the group demanded money from the attendant and left with a “quantity of cash”.
No injuries were reported during the incident and no weapon was involved, they said.
The group were caught in the Rosny area in the hours following. Two of the suspects will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court tonight.
In November, a teenage girl was arrested for smashing up the store and leaving the business with a hefty damage bill of over $2,000.
A staff member quit following that incident and another told Pulse while the number of violent encounters at the store had decreased from one or two a week to once or twice a month, they were “getting more serious”.
“Last year, it was just stealing. Just normal kid stuff. But now they come with a hammer. They start bashing stuff. They start kicking doors. They start breaking stuff,” the employee said.
American Convenience has been subjected to several reported incidents since it opened in 2023.
Those to make it as far as the Supreme Court included a teenage boy who threatened staff with a glass bottle and another who held a knife to a staff members throat.
