Two men, including an alleged Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) member, have been charged with various firearms and other offences following a police operation in Bridgewater.

Detective Acting Sergeant Sam Storer said the specialised police units found multiple firearm parts, homemade firearms, ammunition and stolen property during the execution of search warrants earlier this week.

“The men were charged with multiple drug, property and firearm offences, including recklessly discharging a firearm,” he said.

“Illegal firearm parts and homemade firearms pose a significant risk not only to those who choose to use them but also to the wider community.”

Police say they will continue to target members of OMCGs to disrupt their activities, because of “the threat this poses to community safety.”

“We will also continue to target and hold accountable those involved in the illicit firearm and drug trade.”

Anyone with information about illegal firearms or illicit drug activity is urged to contact police.
