Glenorchy’s Hungry Jack’s store has ranked among the top three fundraising stores in the country for the fast food chain, raising more than $25,000 for Make-A-Wish Australia during June.

The Glenorchy team ranked in the top three among more than 600 Hungry Jack’s stores nationwide during the chain’s June fundraising campaign.

Make-A-Wish national patron Robyn Moore, best known as the voice of Blinky Bill, visited the northern Hobart suburb store to celebrate the achievement.

She was joined by Dylan, a wish child who received a “chill-out” room through the charity, along with his mum Rachel and Make-A-Wish volunteer Sarah.

“Driving past Hungry Jack’s Glenorchy will always remind me of the extraordinary generosity of this community and the team’s commitment to making wishes like Dylan’s come true,” Moore said.

“I am deeply grateful to everyone at Hungry Jack’s for the millions of dollars they have helped raise for critically ill children across Australia.”

The campaign raised a record $2.805 million nationally this year, with Hungry Jack’s having now helped raise more than $13 million for Make-A-Wish Australia since the partnership began in 2017.

Make-A-Wish CEO Sally Bateman said the funds would help address a growing waitlist.

“We have more than 900 children currently waiting for their wish to be granted and this record-breaking donation means that we can continue bringing their wishes to life,” she said.

Studies suggest more than 18,000 children in Australia are living with a critical illness.
