More than half of the Tasmania Devils’ top-tier 1866 Club memberships sold within 45 minutes of going on sale this morning.
The $1,500 memberships went live at 11am on Tuesday and demand was strong from the start, the club said.
“Within the first 45 minutes after going on sale, more than 50% of the allocation of these memberships have been secured by Devils Believers,” a club spokesperson told Pulse.
“For those wanting to purchase 1866 Club memberships we would suggest getting in quickly either online or via our membership team on the phones.”

The 1866 Club is the most expensive of three priority membership tiers the Devils are releasing ahead of their first AFL season in 2028.
The other two tiers go on sale at 11am on Thursday. R28 Premium costs $350 and entry-level R28 costs $150.

All three tiers come from a pool of 4,500 spots, available only to fans who bought a Devils Believer membership by 5pm last Friday.
The club already had more than 25,000 Believer members before that deadline.
Alex Edgar, the Devils’ head of fan engagement and growth, previously told Pulse the 4,500 cap was a deliberate decision to protect flexibility for the club’s full ticketing program in 2028.
“We’ve looked at the venue capacities across Ninja and UTAS and what we want to make sure is we’re leaving ourselves enough availability to create the membership and ticketing program for 2028,” Edgar said.

“We want to leave ourselves the flexibility to create the membership program and also to make sure we’ve got enough inventory to have as many people through the gates as possible.”
The 1866 Club tier includes behind-the-scenes access and first priority for 2028 products, including the club’s first AFLW season.
It also carries a tax-deductible donation of $900 in both 2026 and 2027 through the Australian Sports Foundation, with the money going towards building the club.
