Hobart Airport has opened applications for its 2026 Community Grants Program, with up to $40,000 on offer for Tasmanian charities and not-for-profit organisations.
The program includes the $15,000 Connecting Communities Award and smaller grants of between $1,000 and $5,000, up to a combined total of $25,000.
On top of the cash, advertising partner Bishopp Outdoor Advertising is contributing up to $25,000 in advertising support across digital and fixed sites throughout the airport precinct.
The airport will also provide terminal space for community activations and displays.

Chief Executive Officer Norris Carter said the program reflected the airport’s commitment to supporting Tasmanian communities.
“As Tasmania’s gateway, Hobart Airport plays an important role in connecting people, businesses and communities and through this program we’re proud to support organisations helping make Tasmania more connected, inclusive and resilient,” Carter said.

“Every year we’re inspired by the passion, innovation and dedication of our local charities and not-for-profit organisations.”
“These grants are about helping turn great ideas into meaningful outcomes that make a real difference for Tasmanians.”
Carter said the airport expected to receive up to 100 applications for 2026 based on previous years.
Nel Smit from Nipaluna Nursery, a 2025 grant recipient, said the funding helped bring the Lutana Pocket Forest project to life.

“Hobart Airport’s grant enabled us to work with Glenorchy City Council, students from Sacred Heart and community volunteers to transform a bare park into a thriving pocket forest,” Smit said.
“We’re very appreciative of Hobart Airport’s investment in local environmental action and encourage other organisations to apply.”
Grants are available for projects supporting social impact, environmental stewardship and economic opportunity.
Past recipients have included Goodwood Community Centre, Southern Beaches Landcare, Hope in a Suitcase and Aurora Disability Services.

Applications close on August 31, with successful recipients to be announced in October.
